INUS Course during the 42th SIU Meeting

INUS was privileged to continue our collaboration with the Société Internationale d’Urologie during their meeting in Montreal, Canada (November 9-12, 2022). The joint INUS-SIU session brought together INUS members Dr Blayne Welk (co-chair, Canada) and Dr Howard Goldman (co-chair, USA), and Dr Jorge Moreno-Palacios (Mexico) and Dr Reynaldo Gomez (Chile) as lecturers. The two-hour session included an hour of lectures on neurophysiology, common neurologic diseases (Parkinson’s disease, spinal cord injury, and spina bifida), and then a review of key aspects of medical treatment, use of catheters, botulinum toxin, and neuromodulation. The second hour was devoted to case discussions, with a focus on a spinal cord injury patient who was using CIC and had frequent urinary infections, a patient with multiple sclerosis and mixed storage and voiding symptoms, and a spinal cord injury patient with a unique complication of recurrent prostatic abscesses.
