5th Greek Scientific Meeting on Functional Urology

On the 2nd and 3rd of December, the Neuro-urology Unit of the National Rehabilitation Center of Greece, of which I have the honour to be the Head, organized the 5th Greek Scientific Meeting on Functional Urology. This meeting focused on "Idiopathic and Neurogenic Dysfunction of the Lower Urinary Tract: The flip sides of the same coin".
In previous years, before the covid period, the meetings were focused on Neuro-urology only, dealing with Spinal Cord Lesions (2nd meeting in 2017), Suprapontine Cerebral Lesions (3rd meeting in 2018), and Multiple Sclerosis (4th meeting in 2019).
It is our honour that the INUS has endorsed all these meetings.
After 4 consecutive annual meetings (2016 - 2019) focused on Neurourology only, we decided to open the field by talking about functional dysfunction of the LUT, neurogenic or not, trying to attract more "general" urologists. This exposure to neuro-urology aspects increases the awareness of more urologists (and other health care professionals) regarding the care of neurogenic patients.
The meeting was successful, there were more than 150 participants and the most important was that in every session there were at least ~40-50 people in the room. The keynote lecture "Idiopathic and Neurogenic Dysfunction of the Lower Urinary Tract: The flip sides of the same coin" was the INUS lecture delivered by Prof. Giulio Del Popolo. Although Giulio had a fever and didn't manage to fly to Athens he delivered his talk online. During the meeting, before the breaks and before the beginning of the sessions, there was a promotion slide for the upcoming INUS meeting in Athens. Additionally, there was the INUS roll-up at the main entrance of the venue.
